Thursday, Feb. 24th

Much better day today. Sorry about the horrible blog yesterday. Life does go on, just like nothing ever happened.
This morning Greta and I went swimming again. This was by far the best and clearest water that I have witnessed since I have been here. The waves were really calm and so we could see clear to the bottom about 8 to 10 feet. There were fish everywhere like ones that you see in the salt water tanks in peoples aquarium. It was really cool. All kinds of sea creatures were obvious. So swimming along the water doing freestyle stroke was the best way to swim today. You definetly did not want to take your eyes off the bottom.
Finished swimming and then decided to eat with the ladies downstairs from our dorm. These ladies cook a meal 3 times a day for the students, tourists, and workers around the area. I got a chicken ceasar salad. It was really good, I have not had salad since I got here and those that know how much salad I eat when I am home, I am sure you are surprized. Salad is hard to get here unless you are going to buy it from the ladies and spent 12 EC each time. 12EC is about $5 dollars US which is not bad but you can't do it all the time for every meal. Just a treat! Mom you would be proud because I even ate the cucumbers.
It was funny, here they have these big black birds kinda like the ones in College Station and they are just as annoying or maybe even more except now I don't have a car for them to poop on. Anyways... while I was waiting on the ladies to make my salad, these birds were getting into everything. They had this huge bucket of raw uncooked chicken breasts sitting out in the open and this one bird was just picking at one of the breasts eating whatever it could tear off. This did not even really bother me, I am in Grenada. We freak out when there are sparrows in the mall in the states... not even to mention having a bird sitting on the edge of a bowl picking at a uncooked chicken breast that is going to be sitting on someones plate in a matter of minutes and they are going to be eating it. Only in Grenada! Sorry if I grossed some people out. It really does not phase me, I ate my chicken salad with vengence!! Yum!!
So tomorrow is Friday. Yeah! Lab in the morning and then in the afternoon we have an anatomy quiz and then 3 hours of lecture. Then I am spending the evening with my bible study group for dinner and drinks at a resturant called The Big Fish.
Tata for now.
